Chinese Freeze Tag
This is just like regular freeze tag, but when someone get's frozen, they have to spread their legs apart.  To unfreeze them,  other players have to run and crawl under their legs.  We like to do the version where there's a home-free base somewhere.  And the person who's 'it' has to say "One two three!  Get off my father's cherry tree!"

Mother, May I?
Kids line up along a line.  One kid is the mother and stands opposite from them--about 10 feet away.  One by one, she/he gives the kids a command to take a steps toward her/him.  The child given the command has to say "Mother, may I?" before beginning the steps.  If they fail to ask permission, they have to go all the way back to start.  Here are some example commands:
  • Take three bunny hops forward.
  • Take two scissor steps forward.
  • Take 5 baby steps forward.
  • Take 1 frog hop forward
  • Take 3 backwards steps forward.
  • Take 5 robot steps forward.
  • Take 4 soldier marches forward.
You get the idea!

Wax Museum:
The person who's 'it' tells everyone to dance or move around.  But when they yell "Freeze", they have to walk around everyone and try to catch someone moving.  The idea is for everyone to freeze exactly the way they were when 'it' called "Freeze".  Sometimes kids get stuck in funny positions or hard to hold positions.  The person who moves is the new 'it'.

Red Light Green Light
This game starts out looking just like Mother May I.  A line of kids stands 10 feet or more, opposite from the person who's 'it'.  'It' turns around and says "GREEN LIGHT!".  Everyone tries to run towards them.  But the moment 'it' turns around and calls "RED LIGHT!" everyone must freeze.  If 'it' sees anyone move, even a tiny bit, they have to go back to the start line.  The first person to reach 'it' and tag them, is the new 'it' and the game starts over.

Animal Guessing Game
Each player takes turns thinking of an animal.  They give only three clues for the other players to take turns guessing the animal they are thinking of.  We like to play this while waiting in a line or at a restaurant.
